Choosing Flowers for your Wedding

A happy, yet stress-filled time for most to-be-wed couples,
a wedding isn't always easy to plan. To smooth the way right
up your wedding aisle, here are some easy ideas to help you
choose the flowers for the big day.

Thematically speaking

Choosing your flowers keeping the wedding theme in mind
really helps to focus on specific varieties instead of
sifting through everything available. You could for example,
look for the classic ambience that lilies and roses give if
you are planning a traditional wedding.

Perhaps you've chosen some colors that you want at your
wedding. While flowers can come in a variety of colors,
those that are naturally the correct color combination are
much easier to find and much easier on the overall budget.

It might be harder to look for those exactly right flowers
to truly complement your theme, but you can still find them
with a little more research.

Seasonally speaking

One way of ensuring that you breeze through the flower
selecting process, is to choose flowers that will be in
season around the time of your wedding. Generally, warmer
months tend to have brighter blooms while the cooler months
have more sturdy flowers like chrysanthemums.

Talk with your chosen florist to see if there are flowers
that are easier to find in certain times of the year and
then choose from that selection. You'll find that flowers
that are grown seasonally in the region are a lot cheaper
than having flowers flown in for warmer climates.

No blooming disasters

Of course, the more flowers you choose, the more problems
you can run into, so you may want to pick one main flower
and then work on just a few less dramatic flower accents.
And these accents don't even have to be flowers; they can be
ferns or other greenery.

And while fresh is always better, some couples are finding
that silk flowers are just as beautiful without being
'wasteful'. You can spread silk rose petals on the tables
as an accent or create centerpieces that can be given to
members of the family as gifts.

Flower for your wedding are a way to decorate and
illustrate a theme to your guests. Take your time to
choose flowers that create a beauty accent and then marvel
at how they look in your pictures.
