All about shoes

The soles of shoes are the toughest part of the shoe, as it
should be. There are three layers to the bottom of a shoe.
The insole is against your food, the midsole comes next and
then the outsole which meets the street. The shoe itself
can be made from a wide variety of materials depending on
their purpose. Depending on what that material is will
depend on how much they cost. If the shoes have heals to
them, their generally made out of plastic or hard rubber.

Shoes generally fall into one of the following categories:
dress, casual, athletic, work, and boots. Dress shoes are
categorized by smooth leather finish, leather soles, and a
narrow, sleek shape. Women's dress shoes come in the most
varieties, including flats, high heels, normal heels and
open-toed. Casual shoes typically contain non-leather
outsoles, sturdy leather uppers and a wide profile.
Athletic shoes are special function footwear with fewer
differences between men's and women's styles.

Gym shoes (sometimes called sneakers) are general purpose
athletic shoes designed to provide good traction. They come
in special varieties specifically for tennis and
basketball. Running shoes and boating shoes are very similar
to gym shoes. Track, football and soccer shoes most often
have cleats. Other varieties of athletic shoes include
hiking shoes, which can include boots, walking shoes,
cycling shoes and orthopedic shoes, which are specially
designed for people with foot problems.

There are work shoes that are designed to protect your feet
from the kind of work you do. Some are very heavy duty and
are resistant to oil and chemicals, like the kind auto
mechanics need to wear. Some work shoes have steel
inserts called steel toed work boots or shoes and protect
one's feet from heavy objects that may drop on the foot.
Some people need special made shoes called orthopedic
shoes and depending on the needs of the person wearing them
decides how his or her shoes are made. Some people are born
with one leg longer than the other and if this is the case
then usually this person will need one shoe with a sole an
inch or so thick in order for him or her to walk
comfortably.

No matter what kind of shoes one likes or needs, their main
purpose is to protect the foot. Your shoes must fit
properly too, poorly fitted shoes can cause all kinds of
problems like painful blisters and sores. With some shoes a
person may have to go through a little pain and a few
blisters in order to "wear in" the shoes. Once this is done
one can end up with a pair of the most comfortable pair of
shoes on the planet.
