A honeymoon in the mountains is best
by Carlingue Demontagne

If you're getting married in the next few months, you need
to seriously consider having your honeymoon in the
mountains.

Don't get a motel room or stay in Gatlinburg. Find a cabin
to rent that has all the amenities of a 5 star hotel but in
the serenity, solitude and secrecy of the mountains.

The cabin we just stayed in for a vacation had everything
I could have imagined. It had a full size pool table in the
walk out basement, 2 indoor, 2 person jacuzzis and a
two-person lounge jacuzzi on the deck overlooking the
mountains.

This cabin was called Sunset Symphony and the view was
unbelievable, the wildlife was abundant and the love was
flowing.

When some people think of a cabin, they are talking about
a building that looks like the settlers in the 1800's used
to live in. This cabin we stayed in was more like a Vail
vacation home, except instead of $500 per night, the rental
range is from $130-$160 per night depending on what time of
year you rent it. You can get a price break if you rent it
for more than 3 days.

You are 15 minutes from the Great Smokey Mountains National
park, 45 minutes from Knoxville, and only 5 minutes from
true outlet shopping.

You would really enjoy your trip if you spend most of it
in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park instead of the
tourist trap that Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have become.
While you are in the park you will see unusual wildlife,
waterfalls, old homeplaces and other interesting things.
You'll especially enjoy some time spent in the many old
graveyards located around the park. Be sure to go on a
horseback ride before you leave. Its a great way to see
parts of the park without driving.

The place to find the best cabins at the best prices is
at www.smokeyrentals.com. They are sort of the clearing
house for cabins.

We got our cabin from Fireside Cabin and Chalet Rental.

You're sure to enjoy and remember your honeymoon if you
spend it in the Smokey Mountains and rent a cabin. Just
be sure to watch out for the scorpions!
